Provide
hardware support on HP i2000 and current Itanium 64 bit processor systems.
This is can be both hardware and software issues. Duties include the
following: system board level troubleshooting, software troubleshooting,
hardware and software upgrades, OS loads, and customer requests. Specific job duties include the
following: Assemble components into prototype system The received components are
assembled into completed prototype units per customer specifications. Hardware techs are responsible for
communicating with the developers to determine the needs of each developer and
the level of support the techs will need to provide them. Perform turn-on testing and functional Testing The completed unit is plugged in and powered up to verify basic functionality. Techs perform any testing as necessary to determine board-level integrity. The functional testing phase of the project involves booting the system and testing any subsystem that has current tests. These tests insure that all the components in the systems are functional and ready to be used by developers. Make System board Rework (micro-rework) Hardware techs keep up to date
on board-level rework required on the prototype systems. Techs then obtain the necessary
electronic components (resistors, capacitors, etc) and perform the
micro-rework. Troubleshoot Hardware techs troubleshoot
all system hardware problems to the component level. Non-functioning systems are diagnosed
in the lab, and failing components are replaced. Hardware problems encountered are communicated to the
appropriate customer contact for further analysis. |
